
Born and raised in coastal NC, I’ve always had exposure to bbq and home cooked southern meals. Shortly after graduating high school, I joined the US Navy as an IT, traveling during my deployments in the Mediterranean and Middle East, learning about the different cultures and influences in the regions. After almost 8 years active duty, I was medically retired, moved to Utah with my wonderful wife, and became a stay at home dad to our 4 beautiful children. I consumed a lot of digital media to find ideas to feed my family meals they’d enjoy and not get bored of. I really enjoyed the process of it and became inspired to pursue a formal culinary education. After several years in the food industry, both as a professional Chef and Culinary Instructor, I gained several certifications through the American Culinary Federation, including specialized Personal Chef.
